Upload a clip
Already have a video of the task? Open the menu beside Record workflow on the dynamic dock and choose Upload clip. The clip opens in the same review editor as a recording. The clip must be no longer than your plan’s recording length. Formats a browser cannot play, such as HEVC video from a phone, take longer to prepare.
Transcription uses your monthly usage. You can keep editing while it runs.
Narration and Submit stay locked until it finishes. If you choose Not now, Transcribe audio above the timeline starts it later.
An uploaded clip has no captured clicks or app changes. Arro works from the video and its narration, so add annotations where a step is hard to see.
If an upload cannot go ahead, Audimate says why.
Review the recording
Stopping watch mode opens Review recording in the main desktop window and collapses the dock. An unfinished review appears as Review recording at the top of the sidebar, below New. The dock shows Submit, Discard, and Open editor in place of Record workflow. Submit opens the editor’s submit dialog, and Discard asks you to confirm. Use the video, timeline, and details panel together. In narrow windows, the three-dot menu holds additional video controls.1
Find the moment to edit
Scrub the timeline or play the video. The playhead marks the current time.

Select an annotation
Click an event on the timeline. Its details appear beside the video.

Edit its details
Correct the event’s text, timing, or action details. Your edits save as you make them. You can also delete unwanted
events.

Add missing context
Click Add annotation and choose a type. The new annotation starts at the playhead.
Open Layer visibility to toggle tracks. The menu stays open while you select several tracks.
Hidden tracks remain faded in the timeline and stop showing annotations over the video.
Visibility does not delete annotations or change submitted evidence.
Redactions remain visible and effective, including automatic privacy protection after deleting captured annotations.
Editing narration changes the text Arro interprets. It does not replace or mute the recorded speech.
Keyboard shortcuts preserve typing and menu controls.
Use Space to play or pause, arrow keys to step, and S to split.
Drag the bar above the timeline to give the video or the timeline more room.
Drag the edge of the track names to widen them.
Trim the procedure
Drag a clip edge to trim directly. For numeric edits, change its start and end, then click Apply trim. While dragging, the timeline shows the excluded portion. The gap closes when you release. Splitting at both ends of an unwanted section creates a separate clip you can select and delete.Reset your edits
Reset recording asks for confirmation. Automatic privacy protection stays in place.
Highlight or redact a region
Choose Highlight from Add annotation to draw attention to a region, or Redact to cover a region with a solid box. Each new box appears a little offset from the ones already on screen, so you can add as many as you need. Drag a box to move it, and drag any of its corners to resize it. For either annotation, drag the start or end edge of its timeline bar to change how long it lasts. Review each redaction’s size and duration so the information stays covered for the whole relevant moment.Submit or discard
Click Submit when the review is ready. Add optional Instructions for Arro (up to 1,000 characters), then confirm. Audimate saves your cuts and redactions, removes audio from its local video copy, and sends the remaining annotations for interpretation. Let Arro use plugins is on by default. When a plugin can do a step you showed, such as creating an invoice, the playbook uses it instead of repeating your clicks. A plugin you have not connected yet is still used, and the workflow asks you to connect it before the first run. Turn the option off to write the playbook from your clicks alone. Submitting opens the new workflow while processing continues. If the submission cannot be sent, the prepared revision is kept on your device and the editor locks. Click Retry submission to send it again, or Discard to drop it and return to editing. Click Discard to open the confirmation. Confirming returns you to Home, while canceling keeps your edits.What is captured, and what is not
Audimate does not install a keyboard hook or read password fields.
Visible typed values can still appear in the video and be read during processing.
A control changed only through the keyboard may lack a separate value annotation.
Page addresses captured automatically omit query strings.
Copy events do not include copied text.
Sensitive information
Recording pauses when a configured sensitive app, such as a password manager, comes to the foreground. Sensitive-field protections also interrupt capture when required. The recording card shows the pause, and narration pauses with it. Review the video before submission. Use Redact wherever information must remain concealed. On a Mac, Audimate windows you bring onto the recorded display can appear in the video. Keep them off that display when their contents should not be recorded.Unsaved recordings
If you navigate away, choose Review recording at the top of the sidebar to return to your draft. Stopping capture alone does not submit it. Your draft survives navigation and window closure, but a full quit discards it. The microphone stays on for hands-free narration unless Push-to-talk while recording is on in Recording settings.Processing
After submission, Audimate drafts the new workflow’s playbook, the reusable procedure. Steps show a screenshot from the recording unless footage is unavailable or has no useful, safe screenshot. For repeatable work, Audimate also designs the workflow’s task board and intake form. The form asks for each task’s inputs. Results stay off the form, and recorded example values do not become defaults. Generated playbooks use field @mentions to read that task’s values and write its results. If details come from a document, the form asks for that source or its lookup information. If the recording clearly identifies a case you successfully completed, Audimate adds that task to Done with the known details. If the case or outcome is uncertain, the task board stays empty, and unknown details remain blank. Review the form and playbook before running the procedure. Keep the desktop app running on the recording device until processing finishes. You can use other pages or close the window. On other pages, a card in the corner shows progress and the result. Quitting pauses processing until you reopen the app and return to the same workspace. Submitted recordings survive restarts. Arro receives your reviewed annotations and requested screenshots to interpret the procedure. Cuts and redactions are applied when those screenshots are requested. The full video and redaction instructions stay on your device, and audio is removed from the submitted local copy. Only the screenshots the playbook shows are saved with the workflow. While processing runs, or after it fails, the workflow shows a progress card in place of its tabs. The illustration loops while Arro works, and stops if processing pauses or finishes. With reduced motion enabled, the artwork stays still.
A missing video or missing or incompatible saved progress requires a new recording.
Temporary connection problems can be retried without recording again.
If the connection drops or Arro stops before finishing, Audimate continues on its own and the card keeps showing progress.
After 3 tries it pauses and asks you to retry. Progress and app restarts do not reset this limit.
After those attempts fail, the message is: “Arro stopped before finishing this recording. Your recording is saved, so retry to continue.”
Choose View details, then Retry processing, to resume saved progress and keep completed work.
This allows another 3 automatic attempts.
The submitted video and saved progress remain on your device for retries.
Audimate deletes them when processing finishes or you choose Cancel processing.
Permanently deleting the workflow also removes that video when the recording device reconnects to the same workspace.
Playbooks use available connections where possible, and application or browser steps elsewhere.
Usage
Recording processing uses your monthly usage. It follows your current model settings and plan limits, including when you resume a paused recording. Retrying can use more when additional interpretation is needed. Your Arro thinking setting affects the interpretation quality and usage.Related
