Plugins

Add plugins to give Arro app access and reusable instructions. Catalog installations follow your account within each workspace. Open Plugins in the workspace sidebar. Selecting a plugin in the desktop dock opens its detail page. Every plugin is listed on one page, grouped into sections in this order: Needs setup appears only when needed. Completed plugins move to Installed. To narrow the list, pick a section in the status filter, pick a category, or search. A Preview tag marks a plugin that is still being refined and may change. It is a Preview Feature under the Terms of Service, and you install it like any other plugin. A Coming soon tag marks a plugin that is not available yet. It is listed at the end of Discover and can’t be installed.

Install a plugin

You can also choose Install directly from Discover. Closing authorization leaves the plugin installed. Choose Continue setup to finish. On desktop, installing prepares what the plugin needs and can take a few minutes. When it finishes, a message confirms the install and points you to Installed.

Connect an app

Choose Connect in the plugin’s settings and follow its authorization guide. Desktop authorization opens in your system browser. Return to Audimate when it finishes. For an app listed under Needs you on Home, choose Reconnect to open its plugin page. The line goes away once you uninstall or turn off the plugin. Dismissing it hides it until you next open Audimate. Connections belong to your account in the current workspace. Shared workflows never share your credentials or grant teammates access. For Gmail, approve Send email on your behalf, including Google’s separate permissions screen after sign-in. Required permissions not granted means setup is incomplete. Choose Reconnect and select the requested permissions. Changing Arro’s action permissions does not grant access at the provider. Microsoft Teams and SharePoint require a work or school account. If administrator approval is required, ask your administrator to approve Audimate before reconnecting.

Included software

Some plugins, such as Unity, install software on your computer, so you add them from the desktop app. On the web their page shows Desktop app only and a link to get the app. Plugin details link to documentation, support, and legal information for its software. They also list Requirements, such as an operating system, app version or account. Each computer prepares what a desktop plugin needs. Saving an installation on the web does not prepare another device. Audio and video editing is built into the desktop app and does not need a plugin. Local software runs on the task’s computer, where it can install software and change files. Installing the plugin is your permission for it, so its tools run without an approval card or a safety check. Protected locations, such as password stores, stay off limits. An action Audimate marks as sensitive still asks first, following your approval mode.

Manage permissions

Open an installed plugin and use Tool permissions in its settings to control each action. Until you change it, an action that only reads starts as Always allow, and one that sends, changes or deletes something starts as Needs approval. An action the app itself marks as destructive never counts as read-only, whatever its name. When you deny a plugin action, Arro and its tasks do not do it another way, such as in the browser or on screen. A workflow run stops at that step and says which action you denied. Automatic approval uses the task safety check. Manual approval asks through a task card, while unattended tasks never wait for one. Connecting an app does not authorize every action. Sending an email or message still requires your request.

Disable or uninstall

Turn off Enabled to stop using a plugin. Choose Uninstall from its header’s options menu to remove it. Synced devices remove its catalog packages, but active tasks keep their selected instructions. Connected actions require an installed, enabled plugin using that account. Uninstalling also disconnects the plugin’s apps, unless another installed plugin uses them. Your tool permissions are kept for when you reconnect. To disconnect an app and keep the plugin, choose Disconnect in the plugin’s settings. Disconnecting affects every plugin using that connection. Some apps let Audimate remove the permission you granted there. For those apps, the dialogs also offer Uninstall and withdraw access or Disconnect and revoke access. For any other app, remove Audimate in that app’s own account settings. Apps from one company can share a single permission, like Gmail and Google Calendar. Withdrawing it for one disconnects the others too, so you reconnect them before their next run. The dialog names those apps before you confirm.

Use plugins in workflows

Save your own reusable instructions in a workflow. Type @ in a playbook to select a catalog plugin, even before installing it. The workflow identifies prerequisites: install, enable, and connect the required plugins. Each runner uses their own settings and accounts.

Ask Arro directly

Arro uses your plugins itself for quick requests, like listing your customers, checking a balance, sending one estimate or saving one file. Bigger jobs, with many steps or several apps, go to a background task. Browser automation remains available for actions no plugin supports. When an action needs your approval, Arro asks on a card in the dock and in Home’s chat. You can also just tell Arro your answer, out loud or typed. Arro reads it and runs the action only if you said yes. A request you sent from a chat app asks in the chat, so reply there. In Automatically approve, a safety check decides instead of the card, except for a request from a chat app, which still asks. Some apps hold an action until you approve it on their own site, such as a Stripe refund. Arro’s card then shows Approve in Stripe, which opens that page, in either approval mode. Approve it there, then choose I approved it or tell Arro, and Arro runs the action again. This card has no Always allow.

When Arro suggests a plugin

Sometimes a plugin you haven’t set up covers what you asked Arro for. Arro shows that plugin’s card in Home’s chat and in the dock, then asks how to go on. Answer on the card, out loud, or in the chat. On my screen appears only when computer control is on. The dock’s card closes when the conversation moves on or you close it. The card in Home’s chat stays and shows the plugin’s current status.

Download files

On the desktop, Arro can save QuickBooks invoice and estimate PDFs, OneDrive files, Dropbox files and Slack attachments. Tell Arro where to save the file, or use the task folder. When Arro saves a file itself, it goes to Arro → Downloads in Arro’s home, unless you name another place in Arro’s home or an allowed folder. Downloads support files up to 2 MiB and keep existing files unchanged. A successful download returns the saved file’s path. Files in Arro → Downloads appear under Downloads in Creations. Larger files must be downloaded in the source app. If your desktop app asks for an update, update it before retrying.
