# Zapier

> Add a task to an Audimate workflow from any Zap, using the Webhooks by Zapier POST action to send the data each run needs.

Zapier connects thousands of apps. Add one action to a Zap and every time the Zap runs, Audimate adds a
task. Webhooks by Zapier is on every Zapier plan.

## Get your URL in Audimate

**1. Open the workflow's Triggers tab**

Open the workflow that should get the tasks, then choose the **Triggers** tab.

**2. Choose Add trigger, then the app**

Search for **Zapier** and select it.

**3. Pick the event**

When Zapier offers more than one event, pick the one that should add a task, then choose
**Continue**. Every other event it sends is skipped.

**4. Copy the URL**

Choose **Copy**. You see the URL once, so leave this window open until you've pasted it. The setup
waits until the event arrives.

## Add the action in Zapier

**1. Open your Zap**

In the Zap editor, choose the **+** where the task should be added.

**2. Choose Webhooks by Zapier**

Search for **Webhooks by Zapier** and select it. For **Event**, choose **POST**, then **Continue**.

**3. Paste the URL**

Set **Payload Type** to **Json** and paste the Audimate URL into **URL**.

**4. Choose what to send**

Under **Data**, add a name and a value for each thing the task needs, such as `title` and `email`.
Leave **Data** empty to send everything from the earlier steps.

**5. Test the step**

Choose **Test step**. Zapier sends one event, and Audimate shows it.

## Finish in Audimate

**1. Choose Next**

Back in Audimate, the setup says **Your first event arrived**. Choose **Next**.

**2. Fill in each field**

For each task field, pick the part of the event that fills it. Under each field you see what this
event gives it.

**3. Choose where new tasks go**

Pick **Inbox** to start tasks yourself, or your pick-up list to have them start on their own.

**4. Choose Turn on**

The trigger's switch turns on, and each new event now adds a task.

See [Triggers](/concepts/triggers.md) for what each warning under a field means.

Turn the Zap on in Zapier too, or it only runs when you test it.

## If nothing arrives

> **Zapier says the request failed**
>
> Check that the URL was pasted whole, with nothing after it. If you replaced the URL in Audimate,
> paste the new one.

> **The task is missing values**
>
> Name each value under **Data** in plain words, like `company`. Those names are what you pick from
> in Audimate.
