# Stripe

> Add a task to an Audimate workflow for Stripe events such as a failed invoice payment, using a Stripe event destination.

A Stripe event destination sends account events to Audimate, such as each failed payment. You need
access to Workbench in the Stripe Dashboard.

## Events you can pick

One trigger adds tasks for one event. For two events, add two triggers.

| Event in Audimate | Event to select in Stripe |
| - | - |
| Payment failed | `invoice.payment_failed` |
| Payment succeeded | `payment_intent.succeeded` |
| Checkout completed | `checkout.session.completed` |
| Payment refunded | `charge.refunded` |
| New customer | `customer.created` |
| New subscription | `customer.subscription.created` |
| Subscription canceled | `customer.subscription.deleted` |

## Get your URL in Audimate

**1. Open the workflow's Triggers tab**

Open the workflow that should get the tasks, then choose the **Triggers** tab.

**2. Choose Add trigger, then the app**

Search for **Stripe** and select it.

**3. Pick the event**

When Stripe offers more than one event, pick the one that should add a task, then choose
**Continue**. Every other event it sends is skipped.

**4. Copy the URL**

Choose **Copy**. You see the URL once, so leave this window open until you've pasted it. The setup
waits until the event arrives.

## Create the destination in Stripe

**1. Open Workbench**

In the Stripe Dashboard, open **Workbench**, then the **Webhooks** tab.

**2. Choose Create an event destination**

Select **Your account**.

**3. Choose Snapshot**

For the payload format, choose **Snapshot**. A thin event holds no details for the task.

**4. Pick the events**

Select the event that matches your trigger's, such as `invoice.payment_failed` for **Payment
failed**, then choose **Continue**.

**5. Paste the URL**

Choose **Webhook endpoint**, paste the Audimate URL into **Endpoint URL**, and create the
destination.

**6. Copy the signing secret (optional)**

On the destination's page, reveal **Signing secret** and copy it. It starts with `whsec_`. Paste
it into **Signing secret** in Audimate and choose **Save**, so the trigger refuses requests Stripe
didn't sign.

**7. Send an event**

Make the event happen in test mode, for example with a test card that declines.

## Finish in Audimate

**1. Choose Next**

Back in Audimate, the setup says **Your first event arrived**. Choose **Next**.

**2. Fill in each field**

For each task field, pick the part of the event that fills it. Under each field you see what this
event gives it.

**3. Choose where new tasks go**

Pick **Inbox** to start tasks yourself, or your pick-up list to have them start on their own.

**4. Choose Turn on**

The trigger's switch turns on, and each new event now adds a task.

See [Triggers](/concepts/triggers.md) for what each warning under a field means.

## If nothing arrives

> **Stripe shows failed deliveries**
>
> Open the destination in Workbench to see each delivery. Check the URL and that the destination is
> on. Stripe turns off a destination that keeps failing.

> **Deliveries say the signature doesn't match**
>
> Each destination has its own signing secret, and test mode and live mode differ. Copy the secret
> from this destination again and save it in Audimate.
