# Linear

> Add a task to an Audimate workflow for new Linear issues, using a workspace webhook that Linear sends each time an issue changes.

A Linear webhook sends issue changes to Audimate. Only a Linear workspace admin can add one.

## Events you can pick

One trigger adds tasks for one event. For two events, add two triggers.

| Event in Audimate | Data to select in Linear |
| - | - |
| New issue | Issues |
| Issue updated | Issues |
| New comment | Comments |
| New project | Projects |

## Get your URL in Audimate

**1. Open the workflow's Triggers tab**

Open the workflow that should get the tasks, then choose the **Triggers** tab.

**2. Choose Add trigger, then the app**

Search for **Linear** and select it.

**3. Pick the event**

When Linear offers more than one event, pick the one that should add a task, then choose
**Continue**. Every other event it sends is skipped.

**4. Copy the URL**

Choose **Copy**. You see the URL once, so leave this window open until you've pasted it. The setup
waits until the event arrives.

## Add the webhook in Linear

**1. Open the API settings**

In Linear, open **Settings**, then **API**, and find **Webhooks**.

**2. Create a webhook**

Paste the Audimate URL, pick the team or all public teams, and select **Issues**.

**3. Create an issue**

Create an issue in that team, so Audimate gets a real event.

## Finish in Audimate

**1. Choose Next**

Back in Audimate, the setup says **Your first event arrived**. Choose **Next**.

**2. Fill in each field**

For each task field, pick the part of the event that fills it. Under each field you see what this
event gives it.

**3. Choose where new tasks go**

Pick **Inbox** to start tasks yourself, or your pick-up list to have them start on their own.

**4. Choose Turn on**

The trigger's switch turns on, and each new event now adds a task.

See [Triggers](/concepts/triggers.md) for what each warning under a field means.

## If nothing arrives

> **The setup says it was a different event**
>
> Linear sends an event when an issue is created, updated or removed, and only the one you picked adds
> a task. Make that one happen, such as creating an issue for **New issue**.
