# Recording

> Choose whether recording tips show before the countdown and how your narration is captured while you record a workflow.

Choose what happens when you record a workflow on this computer.

Use **Arro → Recording** in the desktop app. Turn on **Enable Arro** in **General** to change these settings.

## Before you record

The screen you are recording dims and shows three short tips, then counts down 3, 2, 1.
Turn off **Show recording tips** to go straight to the countdown. The countdown always runs.

## Narration

| Setting | What it changes |
| - | - |
| **Push-to-talk while recording** | Narrates only while you hold push-to-talk |
| **Show the narration reminder** | Brings back the one-time note shown when recording starts |

Push-to-talk while recording is off by default, so the microphone stays on and you can narrate hands-free.
Your [Microphone](/account/microphone.md) settings choose the input device and volume.
